Cécile Laplante

À son domicile, le 10 mai 2017, est décédée paisiblement Madame Cécile Laplante, épouse de feu Donald Laplante. Prédécédée par ses parents, Albertine Laverdière et Édouard Rodrigue, sa sœur Stella (feu Jean-Paul Dumouchel), ses frères Paul et Vincent Rodrigue ainsi que sa belle-sœur Odette Laplante (Pierre Beaucage). Cécile laisse dans le deuil ses belles-sœurs Irène Rolland (Paul Rodrigue), Ginette Belzil (Vincent Rodrigue) et Micheline Laplante (Pierre Labrèche) et plusieurs nièces et neveux. Cécile s’est dévouée pendant plusieurs années auprès des Auxiliaires de l’Hôpital Montfort. De plus, elle était membre du Club Rideau, de Retraite en Action, des Amis du Centre National des Arts et de plusieurs clubs de bridge. Sincères remerciements s’adressent au Dr. André Gauthier et Lorraine, ainsi qu’à Julie Fournier (Nurse Next Door) pour leur dévouement et les soins attentifs.Vos témoignages de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don commémoratif à la Fondation de l’Hôpital Montfort (713 ch Montréal, Ottawa, Ontario K1K 0T2). Une cérémonie aura lieu le vendredi 26 mai à 14h00 au Cimetière et services funéraires Beechwood, (280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa, K1L 8A6).

Peacefully passed away in Ottawa, on Wednesday May 10th; at the age of 88 years. She is reunited with her loving husband, Donald Laplante and caring parents, Albertine Laverdière and Édouard Rodrigue. She is predeceased by her sister Stella (late Jean-Paul Dumouchel), her brothers Paul and Vincent Rodrigue as well as her sister-in-law, Odette Laplante (Pierre Beaucage), Cécile is survived by her sisters-in-law Irène Rolland (Paul Rodrigue), Ginette Belzil (Vincent Rodrigue), Micheline Laplante (Pierre Labrèche) and many nieces and nephews. For many years, Cécile was an avid volunteer for the Auxiliaries at Montfort Hospital. She was also an active member of the Rideau Club, Retraite en Action, the Friends of the National Arts Center and many bridge clubs. She will be missed by her volunteer colleagues and many acquaintances. Special thanks and gratitude go to Dr. André Gauthier and Lorraine, as well as Julie Fournier (Nurse Next Door) for their dedication and wonderful medical attention. Friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Friday, May 26th, 2017; Catholic Prayers beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception.

We first met Cecile through her husband, Donald, at Rotary Club of Ottawa functions. After his passing, contact was maintained at the Rideau Club and the Dinner Dance Club of Ottawa. Throughout these many years we always enjoyed her uplifting spirit and friendliness. Please accept our most sincere condolences.
