In Celebration of

Caroline Calouche

July 31, 1964 -  September 10, 2016

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline Calouche, age 52, beloved mother to Emilie and Catherine, wife of Carl, Daughter of Antoine Calouche and Yolande Calouche (Volk) and sister to Christine.

Caroline was a professor at CEGEP Heritage College and a devoted educator in the true sense of the word. Studying early childhood education from a young age, she completed her bachelors degree in Psychology, a graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education at Concordia University and a Masters degree in Educational Psychology at McGill University in 1992. Caroline joined the faculty of Heritage College in Gatineau, Québec in 1993 and has been a fixture of that institution ever since. Known for her quick wit and dynamic teaching style she was loved by - and devoted to - her students and colleagues. She was thought of as the unofficial school counselor; always ready to lend a sympathetic ear and support students and faculty alike. Her daughters Emilie and Catherine benefitted so much from Mommy's abilities, enjoying such an enriched and loving childhood. She lives on in them and through all the lives she touched. The family would be grateful for donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation to support the Centre for Innovative Cancer Research.

I was an ECCE student & had a hard first few months at Heritage (1994). I confided to Caroline, who helped me through my first semester. I will forever remember her kindness and never forget how she made me feel...she gave me the confidence I needed. She was always one of my favorite teachers because she always believed in my abilities. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a very special lady <3

Carl, Emilie and Catherine,
Words cannot express how terribly sorry I am for your loss. Carl, when I last saw you and Caroline at the Father Mac reunion a few years ago, it was as though no time had passed. Caroline was just as beautiful and smiley as she was when we were teenagers. Please accept my most sincere condolences. With much love, Susie
