Very saddened to see in Victoria's Times Colonist the news of Beryl's death.
I fondly remember Beryl and Vern's warm welcome when I arrived in Ottawa in 1971. Beryl and her beloved brother John, who was my father's professional partner shared some wonderful traits: great charm, warmth and wit. Deepest sympathies to Vern and the younger generation of the Nation clan.

Beryl was a beautiful person in every way. Vern, my thoughts are with you. I look forward to getting together with you as soon as possible.
Dear Vern: On behalf of your military comrades from our 6 months sojourn in Vietnam January-July 1973, I extend their sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved wife and soulmate, Beryl. On the occasions when she accompanied you to our annual ICCS Reunions she showed great interest in those attending and our dedication to our activities. May she rest in eternal peace, free from pain and anguish.
Sincerely,
Richard K. Malott, Secretary/Treasurer, CANDEL ICCS ASSOCIATION
Dear Vern: We were saddened by the news of Beryl's demise on Monday, 29 May 2017. We enjoyed our many informal chats with her whenever we met you both at a NAC concert over many years. Beryl always had a friendly smile while conversing with us about our holidays, our health problems or the concert to be enjoyed. We will miss her at future concerts. May your family and friends provide you with strength and hope to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
Sincerely,
Sharleen & Dick 3 June 2017
Rest In Peace dear Beryl; You were one classy lady. I will miss our yearly luncheon.
