Bernard Ernst Swanlund

SWANLUND, Bernard Ernst (Bernie)
Born in Kirkland Lake Ontario on the 10th of March 1936 to Alina Rodman and Fred Swanlund, originally from Finland, Bernie passed away peacefully on the 16th of May at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his first wife Micheline Bouchard, his parents, his sister Linda and her husband Cecil D’aoust. Much loved husband of Michelle (Martineau) for 47 years. Left to mourn him are his five children: Liane (Claude Pélaldeau), Julie, Nadine, Paul (Jennifer Middlemiss) and Eric. He will be sadly missed by his five grandchildren: Arthur Joseph (AJ), Jean -Pierre, Stéphanie, Addyson and Mya. Also left to mourn him are his sister-in-law Thérèse Martineau, and four nieces, Chantal Lemire, Diane (Lorne Ferguson) Christine (Tom Sweeney) and Michelle (Mark Morrison). He will also be missed by members of the Bouchard family, his childhood friend Brien Sirola, and his cousin Cliff Erickson. At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service and disposal of the ashes will occur at a later date. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Bernie’s life at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) on Tuesday May 23 from 1 to 4 pm. Donations to the charity of your choice may be made in Bernie's name.
