JAHENY, Barbara (Gibson)

Peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, August 15, 2016; at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of Gary Jaheny. Dearest sister to George Gibson. Loving mother of Carol (Robbie), Brenda (Andrew), Colleen (Greg), Jim (Ginette). Cherished grandmother of Laura (Dave), Angela (Paul), Leah (Nick), Derek (Andreanne), Alison (Josh), Kelley (Caryl), Brendan, and Sarah; and Great Grandmother of Jaden, Alyssa, Addyson, Kalli and Penelope. Barbara will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, (280, Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa).

Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. until the time of Service in Beechwood’s Sacred Space at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation may do so towards The Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

I met Colleen's mom many years ago when I interviewed Colleen, her mom, and Colleen's Grandmother for a sociology paper I was writing for university. I remember Barbara being so kind to me, and offering so much valuable information for my paper.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Colleen and family.
