Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, on the 6th of June, 2017, at the age of 68. Loving husband of Franceline Quintal-Mazza, and adoring father of Domenico ‘Mico’, pre-deceased by his sister Giovannina. He is survived by his siblings Aldo (Jolan), Giovanna (Mario), brother-in-law Jacques (late Doris); his aunts and uncles, late Maria (late Domenico Mazzeo), Giuseppina (late Giuseppe Zito), Matteo Busceti (late Costanza, late Lucia), late Rocco Busceti (Giuseppina) and Francesca (Vittorio Melone); his nieces and nephews Angelina, Massimo, Gianluca, Nadia, Antonio, Alessandro, Félix, Ariane and Audrée. Son of the late Domenico and Angela Mazza, Antonino was an acclaimed poet and author, esteemed professor of language, and accomplished translator. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday the 15th of June, 2017, and from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday the 16th of June, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica, 385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa at 10:00am on Saturday, the 17th of June, 2017. Those who wish to make a donation in Antonino’s memory may do so to the Canadian MPN Group (Myeloproliferative neoplasms), a charitable foundation that promotes the research, treatment, and improved patient care for those living with a variety of rare stem cell disorders. Décédé paisiblement en présence de son épouse bien aimée Franceline Quintal-Mazza et de son fils adoré, Domenico ‘Mico’, à l'hôpital civique d'Ottawa, le 6 juin 2017, à l'âge de 68 ans. Précédemment attristé par le décès de sa soeur Giovannina à bas âge , maintenant lui survit ses frères et sœurs Aldo (Jolan), Giovanna (Mario), son beau-frère Jacques (feue Doris); ses tantes et oncles, feue Maria (feu Domenico Mazzeo), Giuseppina (feu Giuseppe Zito), Matteo Busceti (feu Costanza, feu Lucia), feu Rocco Busceti (Giuseppina) et Francesca (Vittorio Melone ); ses nièces et neveux Angelina, Massimo, Gianluca, Nadia, Antonio, Alessandro, Félix, Ariane et Audrée. Fils de feu Domenico et feue Angela Mazza, Antonino était poète et auteur acclamé, professeur estimé de langue italienne et traducteur émérite. Les amis et la famille sont invités à témoigner leurs sympathies au Cimetière Beechwood, (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) de 19h00 à 21h00 le jeudi 15 juin 2017 et de 14h00 à 16h00 et 19h00 à 21h00 le vendredi 16 juin 2017. Une messe funèbre aura lieu à la Basilique Notre-Dame, 385, promenade Sussex, Ottawa, à 10h00 le samedi 17 juin 2017. Ceux qui souhaitent faire un don à la mémoire d'Antonino peuvent le faire au Groupe MPN canadien (maladies proliferatives–Myelofibrose), une fondation à but non lucratif qui favorise la recherche, le traitement et l'amélioration des soins aux patients souffrant d'une variété de troubles rares des cellules souches.
