Anne-Claire "Terry" Brownrigg (née Therriault)

Terry passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Wednesday, June 28 2017 following a sudden illness. Terry was struck by a Cerebral Hemorrhage while working in her enjoyable garden with her loving husband.

Terry trained as an RN at the Jeffery Hale Hospital, Quebec City. Served a short period in the No. 27 Casualty Clearing Station, RCAMC in the 1950’s. Wife of 62 years of Larry Brownrigg. Beloved mother of Dr Peter Brownrigg (Linda), Susan Brownrigg Smith (Brian) and Stephen Brownrigg (Maj Ret). Loved and admired by her grandchildren; Dr Danae Brownrigg Kirk (Chris), Erik Brownrigg, Drew Smith and Danielle Smith Lackey (Jordan). She will be greatly missed by her great grand-children Eliana and Cooper Lackey.

Predeceased by her parents Loretta and Napoleon Therriault of Quebec City and brother BGen Robert Therriault, R22eR. Continued nursing in Chilliwack, BC, Kingston, Ontario CFB Gagetown and National Defense Medical Centre where she cared for the veterans of the Canadian Forces for 17 years.

As a military wife enjoyed encountering many new military wives on many foreign postings and sharing the hardship of many yearly prolonged separated family postings, while caring for her home and young children. Ardent in sports, such as skiing, curling, lawn bowling and bridge playing.

The family will be receiving friends at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Friday July 7th after 2 p.m. followed by Funeral Service at 4 pm and Reception afterwards from 5 to 7 pm. Interment with military honours at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Terry’s memory to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation is greatly appreciated.

Dear Larry and your Family. We are very sad for the loss of your dearest Anne, wife,mother and grandmother. You were together for 62 years of memories, that will stay with you forever.
