Algimontas Jonas Kazlauskas, “Joey” to family, “Al” to friends passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2017 at the age of 64 years. He is survived by his father Peter of Montreal, Quebec; twin sister Marija (Randy) of Woodlawn, Ontario; sister Nijole “Nita” (Dennis) of Perth, Ontario; niece and nephews: Marty (Katarina), Melanie (Stefan), Alex (Caroline); great nieces and nephew: Alyssa, Anna, Diego, Brooke; as well as extended family in Lithuania, the United States and close friends across Canada. He was predeceased by his mother Genovaite.

Al was born in Montreal, educated at Loyola High School, attended McGill and Carlton University. He approached all interests with passion: mathematics, parachuting, skiing, touring and racing motorcycles, camping and canoeing, shooting sports, photography, stamp collecting, late life interest in cooking, ending with model railroading.

Al had a long career in Air Traffic Control which began in 1974. He worked in Baie Comeau, Val D’or, Montreal, Ottawa, Cornwall, ending his career in Toronto in 2013. In 2015 he relocated to Kelowna, BC to join friends and enjoy the Okanagan Valley.

Al touched many lives and created many memories.

A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and medical staff at Vernon Jubilee and Kelowna General Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON on May 26, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Interment to follow.
