GRAINGER, Alexander (Al) Shaw, Maj Ret’d (RCAF)

With great sadness we announce the passing of Al on December 12, 2017 in his 94th year. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Caroline Grainger (nee Shaw). Beloved and cherished husband of the late Erika (May 2015). Loving father of Darlene (Jim Wladyka), Wayne (Beverly) and Richard (Rosanne). Dear grandfather of Blake Wladyka, Vanessa Grainger (Sam) and Melissa Grainger (Matthew) and great-grandfather of Bryce. He will be also missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Al’s life will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Words of Remembrance at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Al’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Al ( & Erika) were always there to help in many ways & be Close "Lifelong Friends" to Mom & Dad ( Rick & Lil) . Constant close loyal friends. Both Al & Erika are & will be remembered fondly and missed... Constant and waiting through time .. Rest In Peace Forever
