In Celebration of

Alan Selvadurai

December 14, 1948 -  November 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Selvadurai at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Marie, his son Michael (Jennifer), daughter Amanda (Zachary) and granddaughter Indira. Son of the late Benedict and Regina Selvadurai. Brother of Alex (Punitha), Clive (Babi), Phylix (Susanne), Benedict (Jeyarani), Godfrey (Susy) and Malini (Anton). Son-in-law of the late Pius and Regina Francispillai. Brother-in-law of Wilfred (Stella), Regina (Angelo), Leslie (Rajini), Basil (Jacintha) and Julian (Poomala).

Alan was devoted to helping others and will forever be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, and bright smile that always lifted the spirits of those around him. The past year of his life was spent fighting an uphill battle against cancer. Throughout the adversity, he continued to lovingly support his family with the same spirit, sensitivity, and self-assuredness he exhibited throughout his life. A one-of-a-kind individual, he will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to visit and pay their respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Thursday, November 23rd from 7pm to 9 pm and Friday, November 24th from 7pm to 9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 25th , at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 400 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa. Interment to follow at Beechwood National Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a reception in the Parish hall following the interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Save The Children Canada would be appreciated.
